Cooking Simulator is a cooking simulation game by Big Cheese Studio. The game offers the ability to cook in a restaurant kitchen with dozens of ingredients and recipes, realistic physics, unlockable perks and skills, and a career and sandbox mode.
Cooking Simulator was released on June 6, 2019 on the Steam store. It was also released on Xbox on August 14, 2020.
Mechanics[]
Cooking Simulator offers a realistic cooking experience in a professional kitchen with appliances such as a range, grill, oven, and deep fryer. The player must complete customer orders within a few minutes, carefully following recipes to receive the highest score possible. With enough happy customers, the player can unlock new recipes and perks that enhance their cooking experience. They must also purchase new ingredients and utensils as well as repair appliances with the money paid by customers.
The base game and DLCs (except for Cooking with Food Network) have both career and sandbox modes. In sandbox mode, the player has unlimited funds, every recipe unlocked, and all perks available.
Downloadable Content[]
Cooking Simulator currently offers four pieces of DLC: Cooking with Food Network, Cakes and Cookies, Chaos Tool, and Pizza, as well as the upcoming Shelter DLC. However, the Xbox only has Pizza, and VR version has none.
Cooking with Food Network[]
The Cooking with Food Network DLC adds a new "contest" mode, 30 recipes, 15 ingredients, and a new kitchen. The player must complete orders in a given time frame one-by-one, attempting to get the highest score possible through challenges and excellent cooking. It was released on October 24, 2019 on the Steam store.
Cakes and Cookies[]
The Cakes and Cookies DLC adds a brand new bakery map with new baking mechanics, recipes, ingredients, and utensils. The player can bake and decorate dozens of pastries with toppings, icings and frostings, fillings, and food dyes. It was released on June 11, 2020 on the Steam store.
Chaos Tool[]
The Chaos Tool is a free DLC that gives the player a ray gun that shoots firecrackers, gravity beams, shrink and growth rays, and other fun features. It was released on July 9, 2020 on the Steam store.
Pizza[]
The Pizza DLC adds an Italian pizzeria with new doughs, pizza toppings, sauces, and a brick oven to bake pizzas in. The player can prepare ingredients between orders, which can be taken at the player's own pace. It was released on November 12, 2020 on the Steam store.
Shelter[]
The Shelter DLC is an upcoming expansion that adds a new "shelter" map and game mechanics including trading, hunting, and an immersive storyline. It was announced in April 2021 but has no definitive release date.
